wheel bearing load? 4x4 cv removal

Do the wheel bearings have a load requirement that is applied by the cv shaft? In otherwords, is it bad for my 88 4x4 to run without the cv's installed? Thanks!

No to both questions. But you might want to plug the holes at the rear of the spindles. Otherwise contaminants(dirt, dust, water, etc.) will have an all access pass(if you will) to the wheel bearings and hub parts.
