Tow Capicity on Marlin Crawler rear bumper
I'll be moving this weekend and might need to get a stupid uhaul trailer. I know mc says on their site that it doesn't really have a hitch rating for it. wondering if anyone has towed anything massive with theirs.

What do you consider "massive"?
I dont know how think the mounts are on MC bumpers, but i bet it would be fine. Just compare it to a stock tow hitch, they arnt much beefier.

a MC bumper mounts in the same location as the stock tow hitch. I dont see why you couldn't. I would assume the Bumper to be stronger than the hitch, yeah?

They don't have a tow rating for a reason.
Lawsuits.
Someone could say it has a pretty good tow rating, and then it fails, well then they get sued.
I'd say stock like everyone else, and stock honestly isn't that much.

The uhaul rental place might not "like" the none rated hitch. but doesnt hurt to swing by before you need it and have them do their check. otherwise you'll have to have another truck get the trailer for you

This question has come up many times before. peow130 is correct; to avoid legal issues, all of our products are only intended for off road use and therefore we don't have a need to rate the bumpers.
We use heavy duty D.O.T.-approved seamless 2.5" x 1/4"-wall square receiver tubing (a competitor does NOT use this!) and proven high quality USA HREW steel (see this article: http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=60158.0). Countless customers tow trailers of many weights and sizes. While we can't give a rating for them, we have full and complete confidence they are up to any task
Our opinion is that our bumpers are much stronger than a stock Toyota bumper. Additionally, the recommended frame weld (see: http://www.marlincrawler.com/tech/ar...-pictures#weld) can help alleviate concerns
