motor bogging

alright.. when i try and pass someone or give it more gas the motor feels dead and then out of nowhere the power kicks in.. like its bogging for a minute, then BAM.. i take off.. haha.. not really sure how else to describe it..

i thought the plugs might have been misfiring but i changed them and it still does it.. another thought was the fuel pressure may be to high?? i'm new to the 22r-e ... used to Hondas.. so any help appreciated

Have you done a tune up recently? Plugs you have already done ( gapped properly?) I would do cap, rotor and new wires. It sound like you have a hesitation. What RPM range does this happen in? What gear usually?

I'm thinking oyur Catalytic Converter is clogged...Is your check engine light on?

My 00 4Runner is doing the same thing right now, I'm gonna change the Converter since I've had it laying around for a while anyway.

A clogged CAT would cause a hesitation at higher RPM not "tip in".

I guess I should say it would cause hesitation at higher RPM ALSO not JUST at "tip in".

clean the injectors that solved my trucks problem, it would stall all by itself at a light. it scared me i thought something broke like a cam because of the bang it gave when i started it but it was only a back-fire.
