Yes that's what I saw. Just not sure about the stupid part. Reg. says 85 so technically it is. But actual body, frame ,suspension was 86 to the core. Just never saw one that early or is it late?

Uh, no. If you tell the DMV it's a 2014, they'll put 2014 on the registration. There were no 1985 model year 4WD IFS trucks.

Door jam is the manufacture date. Manufacture date and model year are not always the same. My '80 was built in 12/79.

Ya beat me hippy.

that means its actually an 86. Any vehicle made in or after july, is considered the next model year. or at least thats what it is now, not sure about 25 years ago.

We've established that fact. And, FYI, any vehicle made AFTER July(NOT in July), is considered as the following MY.

Hint: Read ENTIRE thread first, then post comment. In that order.

So, what you're saying is, it's not an '85?

I'll shut up now...

Red face

I have a IFS titled 1985 production date 10/85 4x4 22rcte.

In the eyes of the state that first titles the truck it is a 85 perhaps because it was foreign.

Who knows
