complete 87 22r swap into a 85 toy
what do i need to swap on a complete(carb to oil pan) 1987 non cali emission 22r to go into a 1985 California emissions built pickup that had the emissions 22r in it? anything? or should i be able to just hook up what i can and go? FYI I DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE ANY EMISSIONS WHERE IM LOCATED
pretty much i got this shot and locked up original 22r in this 85 model cali truck and went and got a non cali 22r engine complete from top to bottom from a 87 model...the exhaust manifold is different (no o2 sensor) and the carb is all different too, i think the intake manifold is different as well....
would not hooking up the sensors and vacuum lines in my cali truck to this non cali engine mess with the computer and drive-ability of this engine?
NOT WORRIED ABOUT EMISSIONS IM IN KENTUCKY THERE ARE NONE JUST WANT TO GET THIS BABY RUNNING AGAIN

Actually... there are. There are emissions requirements for all 50 states, and there were 30 years ago as well. Whether there are any emissions checks is a totally different story. That being said, here is a write-up I am in the process of doing on de-smogging a 22R motor, it might be a good resource for you:
