This goes well beyond bad taste. After reading the "Details" section of the ad, I sent an email to Ed Brace registering my disgust at his using the memory of 9/11 victims to make a buck. I suggested he should donate the profit to a worthy veterans group.
Here's his email in case we think alike:

Hmm, all that and it is still a Jeep. It is apparently a custom built series of "collector's item" JK's. Hey if someone is willing to buy it, then I guess that it is worth it to them.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but I actually like the newer Wranglers, almost bought one for the wife
In all seriousness, the people that have used tragedies like 9/11 for financial gain are only one step below those responsible for the tragedy itself. This kind of stuff makes me want to

How could they even say that it's very similar to the WWII Jeeps? I think the only thing even remotely similar, is the fact it has four wheels and tires on it!

If I paint my truck green and put a star on the door, and say it's a tribute to 9/11 and that it is just like the WWII trucks except that it has a 1993 3.0 liter V6, and then charge $70k for it?

I saw a jeep just like that in my 4x4 mag. It was red with an 8.1 viper v10. It had rock jock 60s under it. Imagine that, smoking all 4 tires off on pavement. OMG. But back to topic. This is America, land of choice. You have the coice to buy it or not, just as they have the choice to advertise what ever they like. Not saying its right, but there is far worse things going on besides someone selling a 911 jeep.

That said, the old Willys was probably more reliable in the field, if they weren't exactly fast...
