V6 no spark help
I have a 92 toyota pickup 3.0 5sp. 65k miles on rebuild Was offroading and a plug wire melted the outside rubber. It started to arc onto a piece of metal and the truck ran like crap. Temporary fix until I could get a new plug wire. Couple wks went by ran fine. All of a sudden it acted like it had no power what so ever. You would give full throttle and it wouldn't go anywhere unless you were in 1st or 2nd so I thought it was that plug wire not getting a good connection so I went to autozone and swapped out plug wires. Drove the truck home and parked it, let the motor cool down went out a couple hrs later and installed the new wires plugged them in went to start it and just kept turning over. Checked the firing order 100 times and its right... Checked for spark and didn't have any spark. Changed cap and rotor and still don't have spark. Put a new coil on and still no spark. Then put a ignition module on and still same problem. Checked all fuses, wires, grounds. I'm stumped. What is left to check? Couple people I talk to think it could be distributor or it jumped time? Anyone have any suggestions?

Well I recently removed the timing cover and when I turn the motor over by hand the timing belt is not moving...so I don't know if its the gear on the crank or teeth messing on the crank gear and its just spinning? Not sure yet haven't been able to get the crank pulley off but hopefully I didn't bend any valves turning it over...

Does the belt still have tension? How many miles are on it? If valves were contacting pistons when you were turning it over by hand you would feel it and not be able to continue turning in the same direction.

There is some little notches taken off the back side of the belt but still intact and all the teeth are still on the belt that I can see...since I can't see the crank gear...so I was hoping either there's a woodruff key that came out of the gear or possibly either missing on the belt right there...

Hmm that's interesting that the belt isn't turning. You're headed in the right direction though...get the rest of the timing covers off and see what's going on at the crank. If anything, reset the timing and turn it over by hand. If you don't meet any resistance you can then try to compression test it. That will tell you if you bent any valves.

So I got the covers completely off and the timing belt had all the teeth missing around the crank gear...so I ordered an entire timing kit going to start on it tonight...I'm not sure on how to time it hoping someone can help me out there
