Rear lockers? Need advice.
I'm sure there is already a thread concerning rear lockers but I haven't found it yet. I'm just curious on everyone's opinions of lockers available. I'm building up my 91' runner and am leaning towards a spool locker for the rear. Price has a good bit to do with this decision. The truck is being built for mud. It will be a weekend driver as well. I bought front and rear axels off of a 84'. I am currently rebuilding these for my SAS. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

If price is a concern and your running it for mud, maybe a spool in the rear and an Aussie or Detroit in the front. Detroit being the stronger option. Cheapest yet would be a good weld in the rear and an Aussie in the front assuming your tire size wont smoke the front locker.
The Aussie Lockers are good quality and cheap, but not sure if they hold up to huge mud tires. My sister has one in the rear of her 95 runner and it has been solid, but with 32" tires. Does well in deep snow and rocks.

I ordered the grizzly locker for the front that was a chunk of money already. After the SAS plus 6.5" suspension lift an 2" body lift I'm putting 38.5" boggers under it

Do you really need 3 threads on the same topic.
This topic has been beat to death...you will get better thoughts if you search insted of asking this again.

Noting says cool like a spool.
If you plan on doing alot of pavement driving, I would skip the spool. It will wear down your boggers fast. But if its a mud only. Go for it!
You dont want to use the 84 rear axle, its 3" narrower than your current axle.
