Pinion Bearing replacement?
When my differential pinion seal started to leak, I ordered a new bearing and seal from Rock Auto. I got the pinion removed from my 1988 4 wheel drive truck, but the new bearing Timken M86649 was too small. I went to the discount idiot stores, since today is Sunday, and they both had M30306 listed which was too big. The parts guy looked at the other bearing listed for the smaller ring gear, but said it was way too big, I don't know, I didn't see it. What gives? Why are there so many wrong bearings that don't fit, and what might fit? Now it's back together with the crap original bearing back in place.
