No experience with clutch question

Hey, my automatic 22re pickup was stolen last week and I'm going to look at a manual 5spd 22re today to replace it. The person selling it says that 3rd gear grinds if you rev it really high but besides that everything is okay. What does this mean to me, this will be the first manual truck of my life (had a motorcycle before) and I have no idea what the response to that should be. Does that mean the clutch is about to go out, or maybe just a part needs to be replaced?

Could be the transmission, too...

Did he mean it grinds shifting into 3rd with high rpms, or it grinds if you get up to high rpms just driving in 3rd gear?

I don't know enough to really give you good advice. It could be the clutch, could be the tranny, could just be master or slave cylinder adjustment...Or it could even be that the guy can't drive stick very well!

I don't wanna sound like a jerk but...

you're not really supposed to push in the clutch while revving the engine (with the exception of maybe starting off on hill or if you're stuck somehow) so it may not be a problem at all. Does it shift ok when driving "normally?" My 22r truck grinds occasionally if I'm not paying attention. How many miles does this thing have?

You'll most likely need a new transmission or need to have it rebuilt. I bought my rig with the same EXACT problem about 4 months ago. Now 1st, 2cd, 3rd, and 5th grind (that quite subtle grind). It's now starting to slip out of 1st and 3rd and just keeps getting worse. I would also find someone you know who can drive a manual and test to see if the synchronizers work. I'm not mechanic by any means, but this is just what happened to me.

It's NOWHERE near that bad from your video. What happens is, when I downshift it to slow down for traffic when it hits third it chirrups about halfway up to the end of the gear. Then that's it, the only other time it does it is if I have the gas pedal to the floor and try to shift into 3rd. All the other gears are perfectly smooth.
