hello all new to the forum as well as new to lifting and stuff. well our family has 97 4runner 2wd. its our family vehicle so its basically only street driven (probably won't go offroading). maybe we would see some dirt when we take kids camping. well need new tires and wanted to know what size would be good and which brands are good(not too expensive). gonna put a 2.5" lift on it and just want it to look good with some agressive looking tires. have new rims to put on which are 15x8". any help with our setup would be great. would love to hear what you guys think. later

I am going with a 2.5" Daystar spacer lift and wanted to know if you can still put a 1" bodylift on that also if I wanted to go a bit higher. Have a 97 2wd v6 runner. My funds are very limited and I only drive street so no offroading for this setup. Any advice? thanks,

Yes you can run a body lift with a spacer lift... the two have nothing to do with each other. Thats starting to get up there though, what size tires are you going to run? 285's?

not sure what tire size i want yet. its gonna be onroad but want an agressive looking tire with good mileage. have a brand new set of 15x8 rims that i've had for awhile just waiting in the garage. i have stock 15s on there now and not going to 16s cause i don't have funds and i love my new rims i have. don't want something to look small but don't want tires that will kill me on gas mileage or anything. any ideas.

why are you also adding the 1" BL if you don't wheel it and you don't know what tire size you want? i think the 2.5" Daystar lift should do the job for a mall crawler.

99% of my driving is onroad. want 2.5-3" lift. would it matter if I got between Cornfed or Daystar. Daystar is much cheaper and doesn't use metal in its lift. But only getting this for looks and slightly bigger tires. Would I be ok with Daystar or go for the Cornfed

that setup should be fine like everyone else is saying, but if it were me the daystars should be enough lift for onroad a well as some 31" or 32"

I have the daystar coil spacers up front and greasable shackles in the rear. I like it. its cheap and gets the lift you want. heres a pic of mine

Ive heard good things about the Cornfed lifts too. So either way your good. By the way what are you putting the lift on? Taco or 4runner?

my new rims going on are 15x8" and i do have stock 15s on there right now. i was thinking 31x10.5 for tires. would that size look good you think? i like the beefier look but if its going to mess with my gears or give crappy mpg then i don't want to do that. thanks

with the v6 the 31" or 32" would do fine. they would both look good and fit a 15x8"

97 4runner 2wd with stock 15's on it. Putting on a 2.5" lift all around and is only driven on the street. no offroading at all. have some new 15x8" rims im gonna want to put on with new tires. would a 33x10.5"15 be a good size? mainly going for cosmetic and a smooth ride onroad. would i have any clearance problems with size. or would i be wiser to go with 31x10.5. the extra 2 inches in height would be sweet to have if it won't affect anything. thanks

i dont this a 33's will fit a 97 with 2.5in lift your prob going to neeed a body lift on top of that i would just run a 31 or a 32

what size is on there now? Take the difference between that and a 33, divide by 2, and see if you have that much space in your well. A 33 is only 1" closer to the fender on each side. If not off roading then it may not matter, it'll only scrub at full turn and that would only be in parking lots

i have stock 15's on there now with 235/75/15. but need new tires within next 3 months or so. putting on a 2.5" spacer lift and will only be onroad. i have brand new rims im putting on that i've had stored in garage. they are 15x8". not gonna go with 16's

well there you go. that's roughly a 29x9.50, so a 33x10.50 would be 2" taller on each side of the wheel and 1/2" wider on each side of the wheel.

not sure why you would do this on a 2wd? you will only hurt your ride, mpg, odo/ speedo readings, and of course kill acceleration.......

Get 31s, 2.5" on a 2wd is not enough for 33s. Some 4x4runners w/ 2.5" still have problems w/ 33s. Nothing major is going to happen lifting it that much and you don't even have to worry about CV angles like most of us, but you will need to get an alignment after the lift. 33s will suck a lot of power away too, another reason to go with 31s.
