You will just be up a couple hundred rpms on the freeway, nothing huge.

Yeah based on what I've read $300 seems like a great deal. The front 3rd is non-ADD, which is great because I can completely rid my truck of the ADD system once I get locking hubs... finally!

I understand, trust me. Just tell her a shop would charge you about 2k for this job. She might freak out less. I told my wife that my rig is paid off, and my regear was about half of a car payment for her. She realizes that since we have no payments on mine that it's perfectly ok to spend money on it now.

Not sure how I missed this one. lol.
Install was straight forward, I followed the same links that I sent you. only difference was on the front diff, I didn't drop the whole crossmember, I left it in place so I could pin the front of the new diff in to hold it in place.
Also, Tofer has a great idea of knocking the studs out of the front diff and replacing with grade 8 bolts. Others have knocked out the studs, ground off the knurls, and reused them as bolts. Makes getting around the cv joints on the install MUCH easier.
I did mine in about 7 hours by myself. But I stopped to grab a beer, have lunch, recheck the write ups to make sure I wasn't screwing it up, etc. I like to cruise and do my projects to make sure I don't forget stuff, especially the beer.
I had 4.10's and was running 265/70/16's (31's) I HAD to downshift on the freeway to pass someone.
I swapped to 4.56's and currently have 245/75/16's Also a 31, but a heavy, E rated Mud terrain. I will soon be swapping to a lighter all-terrain in a 265/75/16 (32")
I love the swap, best thing I have done by far.

Yeah my wife is used to me spending money on the 4Runner. We don't have any car payments at all so its easy to justify. My 33's and the gears are the last thing I'll be doing to my 93, and then I'm going to start on my stock 2000 4Runner, good times!
