clunking noise from right hub

my right front hub "clunks" when starting to move forward and sometimes when accelerating from 1st to 2nd (just after shifting). it only does this once, and is fine while driving and slowing down in gear. about two months ago, i broke off a lug nut stud (i got really angry at it and ate it!) and took it in to get replaced. the noise started about a month later. i haven't noticed it in 4wd, but i'll check again soon.

oh, and the search results that come up for me are for a constant grinding noise, not a one-time clunk

I would guess either something is loose, or your spindle bushings are broke/need grease.

Check the nuts that are holding the wheel on. I broke off 5 the other day just because they weren't tightned properly. Mine made a clunking sound until i only had one left, then it made a loud tapping sound. It took 3 of the bolts with it so just check em, no harm there.

try checking to see if the wheel is bet, it could be rubbing against the calibrator.
