bobbed bed
in the master plan, a ext. cab swap is in order for my '90 PU std. cab short bed. i am planning on doing some work on my bed pretty soon and i want to knock out all the future bed work while i'm at it. how much longer is the ext. cab?---> how much length do i need to take out of the bed? and will it affect my gas cap/filler? thanks.

If you bob the bed correctly, it won't effect your gas cap/filler. Just take the needed room for the ext. cab out of the front (against the cab) and then bob your rear as short as you want or leave it be.
Extended cabs I believe are 15-20 inches longer, thats a rough guess. I'm guessing you can find the cab lengths on Edmunds.com I've been biting my time to do the exact same thing your planning, just haven't found a good cab to do the swap with and not sure if I want to do that first or attack the suspension and gears.
