Yes.
Search.
The 8" thirds from 79-95 are exactly the same (sort of)
And can be mounted in any axle..
I have a 3rd from a 79' in my 87 atm.

The sort of being the x factor ...as long as the 92 third member is a two pinion (non turbo) carrier right? wht about axle diameter? will this be an issue theyre both 27 spline shaft inputs

.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...........
You did read what i posted, right?
79-95 the 8" thirds are identical and can be swapped into any 8" third carrying toyota axle.
doesnt matter if it's two pinion or 4 pinion, the mounting pattern and spline count are the same..

4wd Rears are 30 spline. 2wd rear 7.5" are 27 spline. Front IFS are 27 spline.
