85 tire size

i dont think this is a repost.. i checked lol.

i have an 85 p/u with a sa , i was wondering whats the largest size tire i could run without rubbing, i dont have a lift and dont plan on getting one. another thing i was looking at was the super swamper tsl narrow, i guess it could help not rubbing on tight turns wich i use alot considering the trails i run on require cutting the wheel all the way so i dont scrape trees.

i was figuring the largest size tire i could run was around 33', does anyone think i should regear my diffs for such a slight change?... also i dont want to get a size to big or small considering tires are only about 800 bucks a set lol, so is anyone running large tires with stock suspension and a solid axle??

any comments are welcome as always so dont feel shy!!!!

You're right, this isn't a repost...it's the repost of all reposts.

This stuff is all over the board - I would try narrowing your search using the Advanced Search feature.

Try searching using specific keywords after narrowing it down to the '85 section - if you still don't have any luck let us know.

With all stock. 31x10.50 may just barely fit. We had to install a set of 1" longer than stock front shackles on a buddy's '85 with that size tire. He did have some aftermarket rims, don't recall the size/backspacing on those. 33s will rub:

It's no trouble - I'm just glad you knew to post it in the right section.

Do some searching and reading on Roger's site and see what you can come up with.
