whats goin on guys. i was sittin around thinkin about my next tire size today, and i started thinkin about 35x10.50s. im most likely gonna run em. i have 33x12.50s now, bj spacers, AALs, 2inch bodylift. i would need to cut and trim a bit but that aint a problem. ok so heres my question when you compare a 33x12.50 to a 35x10.50, it looks to me like the 33x12.50 would do the same wear and tear on the IFS as the 35x10.50 would do. the 33x12.50 is shorter, but wider, and the 35x10.50 is taller, but narrower... see where im goin with this? am i right on this or am i way off?

edit- also this is assuming the truck has the gears to pull them

The 35's will probibly weigh the same if not a little big less than the 33's. clearancing shouldnt be a big problem, you will probibly get better mileage with it too

I have always been into the wider tire look but as it has been proven time and time again, skinny tires work better..

A major factor of consideration of 35x10.50's is that the tire selection is extremely limited. This alone has never made them an option for me!

can you even get anything other than boggers in that size? the 34x10.50 ltb's are much cheaper by the way.

The CV's will run at a higher angle, so wear out quicker. Had a buddy's who's wife's 4rnr had 35's, he was always looking for spare cv's.

yea i agree, i like the look of wider tires to. but ive been wantin 35s, and i dont want to rip my front end out, and i dont need a SAS right now bc i havnt been able to wheel much here latley.

The cv's won't run at a different angle unless you adjust the torsion bars. Tire size has no effect on the cv shaft angle.

The skinny 35's will probibly feel the same as the 33x12.5's

Another thing to take into consideration would be the torque being put on the front end. To put it easily: say you're trying to get a bolt off and you need a breaker bar. A 35" breaker bar would give you more leverage than a 33" breaker bar would. Kinda similar with the size of the tire if you know what I mean. More leverage put on the front end to snap a CV or mess up the steering. May not be a lot more, but it may be the difference in breaking something or just bending it and still being able to get out of the trail...

Also, are you just wanting them for looks? You said you haven't been able to wheel very much. Why not save your money and stick with the 33's? A swamper is not going to last you very long on the street.

noooooo im def not spending that much for a tire for looks. also, i got my Cummins that i daily drive. i don thave a trailer yet to tow the yota with yet. and its still overheating a littel, so thats why i aint been able to wheel. i aint gettin the tires soon, im gonn await til probably summer time. thanks fro takin the time to explain teh leverage thing to me. i didnt think anthing at all about that

no thats not what were saying, look at my sig, i have bj spacers, AALs and a 2inch body lift.
toyota1 i knew youd chime in! did they rub pretty bad with jsut that 3inch BL? how long did you have them on IFS? whats your opinion on them

no they didnt rub that bad at all, and after i cut a lil bit off of the plastic inner fender and hammered the pinch weld down, they quit rubbing all together. i had them on there for about a year or so, (33's before that). you cant beat a bogger when it comes to traction in the mud, and for a 10.50, they do surprisingly well in the sand and snow. there worst downfall is the pavement, they wear out quicker than most, noisy, and basically ride like ass. but they are a superb off road tire!

yea if this was my daily driver i wouldnt run swampers. i can tdecide between the SSRs and the Boggers. if you cleared tehm with a 3inch BL then i should be able to clear them. did you have stock gears with them? could you feel a difference when you went from the 33s to the 35s?
you wouldnt happen to have anymore pics of ti when it was still IFS with the 35s would ya? liek a pic from straight in front of it or behind it?
