22r timing problem please help!
Ok so i have a 22r bought it off some guy on craigslist. He said it ran great ect.... so i get it in my truck turn the key and it fires right up. so i kill it and try one more time. Thats where the trouble starts. Try again and it sounds like its only running on 2 cylinders. so im thinking it is the timing chain. so i go out and get a new one set all my zeros and im at TDC but still the same problem. I have been messing with it for a week now and cannot figure it out. Please help.

why would you think it would be timing chain if it was missing on two cylinders? If it were me I would have checked the plugs and wires first(not as expensive) and go from there. If the cylinders missfiring are side by side it could be a blown head gasket as well. We need more info to diagnose further.

well it isnt the head gasket i just replaced it. and i had replaced the plugs and wires before anything. The compression is good. when ever i try to turn the motor over it will sound like 2 cylinder then it will blow back through the carb. but not a loud backfire or anything. but its all timed right.
