2000 4Runner Aftermarket California Cat??

Well my truck is showing a CODE 420 and I am trying to locate an aftermarket company that sells California spec cats. I found magnaflow and miller and AirTek but I cant find an application for my 2000 4x4.

I checked ebay and searched this forum and no luck.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks all!!

P420

I have the same code on my 99. My cat is a universal one and the mechanic says in in their experince the universal one is what is throwing the code. he reccomended putting the toyota oem one on. to the tune of $1400 for just the cat. the toyota parts places online sell them for $980ish. i haven't done anything yet. i did replace the o2 sensors, but that didn't clear it up.

You are not going to find one--it is a racket brother......

Put a couple universals on there and simulator and call it good....

Thanks guys.

What is a simulator?

Do I cut the old two out, leave the sensors in, and weld the universals in between?

Will the sensors still work properly or will I still get the 420 code and check engine light?

thanks again

Note for "off road use only"

It will just get rid of a P0420, with or without cats. Wow, I see they went up in price quite a bit. The front sensor will still work the same, the rear sensor is (through the box) simulating the signal from a good cat or cats.

The ethical question is "What is offroad"...
That is the question......Or maybe Kalifornia needs to ease up before there is nothing left in that state.
