I recently bought my 1990 4Runner 3.0 Auto 4x4. The previous owner did a pretty good job and rebuilding it, but it still needs some help. The power sunroof will not open I can hear the motor trying to open it but nothing happens. The rear window has problems rolling back up and needs a guiding hand to pull it up. I thought I had seen diagrams on how to pull the sunroof but cant find them now, as well as a step by step guide to changing out the relays for the rear window. Can anyone help me out with these problems.

Chilton service manual wont show you how to accomplish the task so It would have to be located in a factory service manual. The only one I could find is the moon roof relay which is located under the dash next to the drivers side door. You may have to drop the bottom part of the dash to get to it. Its a rounded body relay and is the bottom one of the 4 round body relays in there. The book labeled it E relay. I could not find a relay for the back window in Chilton manual. If you have power to the source of the windows, it wont be the relay. They are good or bad. They are just switches that turn on when power gets to them. But that is all I could find out to help you.

Cant help on moonroof. Use some silicon spray in your tracks that the glass slides. That causes a lot of friction and makes a big improvement on the front windows.
