04 4runner wheel base

I have an 04 4Runner SR5 4x4 with 265/65-17 tires. I'm looking to put on 2 to 3 inches of lift, but I don't like how my tires sit inside my fenders. Is there a safe way to widen the wheel base to sit even or just outside the fender without getting into new axles and such? I don't plan on doing any aggressive off road; just trails and creek beds at most. I also wanted to put on either BFGoodrich A/Ts or Muds. Can I step up the tire size without rubbing on the wheel well?

wait, are you wanting to lengthen the wheelbase, i.e. the distance between the front and rear tires, or are you wanting to widen the track, or the distance between each front tire and/or each rear tire?

I think he means track....

If you want your tires to sit out side the fender or even with it get wider tires, you don't need to mess with the axles or anyting. If you are going to get bigger tires you will need a lift in order to fit them, with the right ammount of lift you should'nt have any issues with rub.
