Under Carriage Pics

Hey does anyone have any pics of a4gen 4runner undercarriage.

I would like to know if I am missing any of the stock skid plates. I have an 03 runner sport V8 and had the drive shaft lubed yesterday at the local dealer to cure the clunk I was getting and now not too sure if I am now missing one.

From what I can see there is one up front and one over the gas tank.

Thanks for the Help

There are actually two up front. One in the very front (since you have a V8 you have to remove this one to change the oil filter) and another behind it that's under the oil pan. The second one has a plastic oval filler plate in it that allows access to the oil pan drain plug. The filler plate tends to fall out and get lost so don't be surprised if all you see is an oval opening roughly 2 x 4 inches in size. At a quick glance they can easily look like one long skid plate. You definitely don't have to remove the first plate to lube the drive shaft and I don't think you have to remove the second one either so I doubt the dealer would have taken them off. Other than that the only skid plate is the one under the gas tank. My guess is that you have the full compliment of skid plates you should have, unless for some strange reason they took off the one under the oil pan.

If you still aren't sure let me know and I'll try to get under the truck and shoot some pics.

Thanks Spyne…After going tonight and getting under another 03 runner - nothing is missing.

Have had fun experiences with dealerships before so...just wanted to make sure.

Thanks again for the help!!
