Not true.

A recall is done regardless of whether or not there was an actual problem with the recall covered parts on a specific vehicle. A TSB is usually done only if there is an actual problem with the TSB covered parts, and can cover non warranteed items (such as wear items). It's more like warranty work that can be done even after the warranty runs out.

So, has anybody else had this done yet? If so, how was the ride afterwards, both loaded and unloaded? Sounds like ryland had good results, anyone NOT like the ride quality afterwards? I picked up an 05 Double Cab in December and the dealership will do the replacement no questions asked. Probably going to go ahead and get it done, just like to be well informed.

I just got mine on Friday. The ride is a little more stiff. I went from a 2001 tacoma trd to a 2006 tacoma sr5 and the ride feels more like my old truck now. I never actually noticed a problem but after I saw this thread I figured I'd report a harsh ride with a load in the bed. No complaints here.

TSB done today!

I had my 05 2.7L non-TRD done today.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The truck feels 100% better, the steering flutter is gone!

The soft suspension, Tight as a truck SHOULD feel and it's lifted about 1.5 inches. It handles the corners REALLY solidly and the alignment cured some irritating mushiness in the steering.

The ride is solid with the TSB, there is NO harsh ride whatsoever. Bilsteins x 4, new 4-leaf rear & new u-bolts.

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting the TSB if you can! My truck has 40,600 miles, but I took it in w/ 32k this summer & complained about the steering flutter & mushy suspension...... at THAT time, even though the TSB had just come out I didn't say the magic words: Harsh Ride!

It had me feeling pretty bad about Tacomas, was thinking I'd sell it in a few years & do something different. F* * * that! This truck feels awesome now!

Just picked my 07 up from the dealer after having this done it rides a bit stiffer but like mentioned earlier rides a lot like the first gen tacoma's i love it. It also looks like it gave the rear about another inch to inch and a half in height, now to see how it flexes.

Thanks for the input. Stopped by today to set it up. I talked to the service manager on Monday and he was off today. I was a little worried for a minute when the woman asked, "how would you like to pay for this?" I quickly pointed out it was considered warranty work...luckily had the TSB in hand. She confirmed my in use date of July 2005 and put it all in the computer. Parts could be here as early as Tuesday. Having the non-TRD, I'll get springs, all 4 shocks, and the alignment. Woohoo! Supposed to warm up a little tomorrow, I'll take some before pics and a couple measurements so I can see the difference when everything is done.

I have an 07 taco TRD with Donahoe coils in the front. I havn't done anything to the rear suspension. My rear leafs qualify for the TSB however does anyone think I will get any trouble Toyota since I have modified the front suspension?

I could always put the stock front suspension back in but don't want to go through the hastle if I don't need to.

After having mine done, all I can say is WOW! Handles SO much better. It's not mushy going into corners anymore and overall just drives better. Dealership tried to warn me of "rough ride" complaints from the stiffer springs, but I didn't buy into it. I'd advise anyone that qualifies to pull the trigger and get it done. It did change the height a bit, but looks like the rears are starting to settle in a bit. Pics here http://www.putfile.com/album/180983
