Differential options on a 2008 Tacoma double cab long bed ??

Im considering buying a 2008 Tacoma double cab 4x4 longbed. I have a question about the three different differentials that appear to be options for it. Unforturenly you cant get the TRD off road package in the double cab longbed which would have the true locking diff., however if you look on the Toyota website at the 2008 tacoma e-brouchre on page 3. It clearly shows three different options.

No. 1.-limited-slip rear diff.
No. 2-electronic locking limited-slip diff.
No. 3-automatic limited-slip rear diff(LSD)

What is the difference between all three of these?
So is a true locking diff. a option?
Which packages do you have to order to get each one of them?
I hope some of you dealers out there can help answer some of these questions. My local dealer acts like they dont know what they are talking about.
Im not going to be doing any real off roading with this vehicle so would a limited slip be of any help-say in the mud/snow?

Those descriptions are confusing. I thought you had two options with the Dbl cab LB:

- Open diffs with the SR5
- LSD with the Sport package

Maybe one of those Toyota options is the TRAC (e-LSD or auto-LSD)?

for 2007 I know you cannot get a locker with the long bed. you can however get limited slip on an SR5 or the TRD Sport. I have an SR5 4X4 no TRD with limited slip. as far as traction: open is worst, limited slip better and locker best. its all a matter of what you want. yes the locker will help you in the mud or snow. i had a tacoma previously that only had a locker, no 4X4 and that thing could off road and keep up with 4X4's. i personally only wanted a locker and no 4X4 on my new tacoma but that was not an option on the long bed. 2008 could be different. i feel your frusteration with the dealers. it seems ridiculous that they do not know what the packages are. at one point i had a dealer looking for the truck i wanted, 2 wheel drive, with a locker and long bed. he called me and told me he was having a hard time finding a truck with those options. no kidding? maybe thats because it doesn't exist. oh the dealership.......thats anothe post.

So to get the limited-slip do you have to get the sr5 package or can you order it as a separate option?

as far as i know it is a seperate option, similar to the tow package. you can probably get it with any package.
