Where to wire in to reverse signal?

Where to wire in to reverse signal?
I am installing a backup camera. System will run when in reverse only, at least for now. With the setup I have, the relay wire is in the cab, and I don't want to run a connection all the way to rear. I know there is a reverse signal wire coming off the trannie somewhere, but can't figure out where (92 4wd pu with 3.0 and auto trans). I also thought about pluggin right into the shifter box, but again not clear where. Any help would be appreciated! And pics of finished product to follow.

Not sure about your year... When I hooked up my backup camera I used the reverse wire that goes into the gauge cluster. Sorry, not a lot of help, but you don't need to find a wire clear in the back of the truck.

Theres the VSS (or speedo cable) on the back of the Tcase and then the reverse switch on the side of the transmission. Will probably look like this:
I'd find where that enters the cab and go from there...
