Trimming for tire fitment on '92 Runner
Hey guys.
I'm looking at a '92 Runner I may buy cheap specifically to use in an offroad race (NC 4x4Cross).
On the rear wheel wells of this solid-body trucks, how much can you trim out via sawwzall etc for clearance? Or, is it even necessary for say 33s on minimal lift (maybe 1" shackles and short blocks, haven't decided)?
I know the fronts are easy to cut out, and on the 1st gens there is a few inches between the lip of the rear fender and the seam for the inner well.
This will be a budget build for sure.

unless your swapping out the rears for leaves, you dont have shackles...
and you dont use blocks... you use spacers...
id get a set of OME 901HDs... they give you ~2" of lift for the rear... enough to fit 33s... problem is, if you wanna get a LOT of flex out of em, 33s might rub the fenderwells...

I *completely* spaced out on it not being leafed rear, lol. My long-time toy is an '89.
the rubbing is why I asked. I'd just trim as necessary to fit.
I'm still going back and forth on buying a seperate rig vs running my '89...
