Torsion Socket?
I've been trying to get some answers as to the terminology, but they all seem a little hazy. What is the socket? I know there's the actual torsion bar and the key that goes on the frame side of the bar. Is the socket the housing for the key or is it the part on the control arm? I know they can be upgraded to a "V6" style on 84-88 trucks, but have no idea what I'm looking for.
This is in reference to Total Chaos's Caddy Kit.
Thanks for the help.

I would recommend leaving your stock T-bars and use stiffer valving on the shocks. that is my experience with higher speed desert stuff and as for trail running you will for sure want stock bars.. I am almost considering going from v6 T-bars to 4cylinder ones..

Alright. Is it bolted on or does it require cutting/welding?
Yes. Because I going to use 3.25" over arms so the forces will be multiplied, resulting in the need of a stiffer spring.
Thanks for the fast response, but this leaves a new question. Why wouldn't the new arms jut have it what needs to be upgraded? The bars I know need to be, but what about the key?

your not looking for a much stiffer rate, trust me.. I know the force is multiplied but torsions are pretty much the worst type of spring you can get.. you should try using your stock T-bars and see what happens, you might be happy and not have to spend the extra money and time.. when i put longer arms on my pickup ( only about 2" over on both sides) I was very happy with the performance and I was using OTC rancho shocks made for a pickup with a 2" lift.. in fact I almost wanted it softer..
