Runner not getting fuel.

I've got a question that maybe one of you could answer.

My 88 v6 automatic Runner wont start. it's runs perfectly when you have a continuous spray of ether into it. i've tested my fuel pump and that seems to be working fine. Changed numourous relays and still nothing.

my question is, if i install an inline electric fuel pump, and switch to turn it on and bypass all of those relays, would that possibly solve my issue?

any info would be greatful.

chris.

check your EFI fuse under the hood. When it goes it cuts off all fuel to the motor. i think its a 15.

If the EFI fuse is blown, the EFI won't work, won't start.

Find the diagnostic connector under the hood. Check for 12v on the Fp terminal while you are cranking the engine to start, or while it's running.
No voltage on the terminal during either condition (cranking or running) suggests the COR (Circuit Opening Relay) is bad, and/or the wiring to the COR is bad.
Voltage to the Fp terminal when cranking, but no voltage when the engine is running, suggests that either the COR (or wiring to it) is bad or the circuit to (and possibly including) the AFM is bad.
Voltage to the Fp terminal after the engine starts, but not while cranking, suggests that the COR is bad and/or wiring between the ignition switch and COR is bad.

the fuel pump relay is under the dash, right near the steering column & of course the 15 amp EFI fuse that you're already aware of.

Find what blew the EFI fuse while you're digging.

The Popped efi fuse i found out was from my buddy dad. he was under there with a test light and fried it. I searched and searched for broken wires, loose connections and all that good stuff. didnt have any luck in that department.

this is gonna sound so stupid. We've determined that the fuel pump is in fact shot. i ordered one, should be here in like 2 days. my old man told me it was the fuel pump in the beginning and i didnt listen.

i'll let you know how it goes with the new pump in. in the meantimes, here's a pic of the project. i really need fenders.

thansk for all your help so far.
