power steering swap

90 4 runner 6 cycl.
replaceing my pump with a good used one anything I should know .never done one ,does it need to be blead to get air out if so how do you do you do it?

Yes it will need to be bled. After you replace the pump jack front end up fill reservoir with fluid, turn wheels in both directions 2 or 3 times recheck fluid. Start the engine and turn wheels both directions 2 or 3 times. Lower the vehicle with engine still running turn wheels both directions 2 or 3 times. Check that fluid is not foamy or cloudy and doesn't rise over maximum when engine is stopped. Maximum fluid rise is 5mm.

If your swapping pulleys remove the pulley bolt before you take the belt off.
