Need help with a creaking clutch pedal
So my 91 4runner's clutch pedal is starting to creek or creak (however you spell it lol) when the pedal is pushed down. I replaced the clutch bracket a few months ago and I don't see a crack in it so I think that is good. When the bracket cracked the mounting point in the upper dash was ripped out so I pop riveted in a piece of metal to hold it there. I hope to god that is holding up. From what I have read it sounds like it could be a bad bushing. Does anyone know where I could find a write up on this or pics of what it is suppose to look like with the bushing? I don't see one around the pin but I don't remember there ever being one there. Do I possibly need to oil something?

That would be the one. It pulls the pedal back up when you release it. Springs creak sometimes, particularly if something causes binding or makes it vibrate. If it is the source of the noise, oiling it might temporarily stop the noise. Sliding a piece of vinyl tubing that is slightly tight over the spring can also help dampen noise.

Just spread some grease over it, stretch it out and apply a thin layer...oil will drip all over...Oh, and also when mine was squeaky i took of the whole pedal and greased the bolt and both sides of the plastic sleeve inside...
