My toyota didn't come with a lighter...is the wiring in the harness??
I'm wondering if I can find the wiring in the harness somewhere. I don't beleive it came with one from the factory. I could be wrong, but the truck is as bare bones as bare bones can be. I only need it to charge my cell phone. Any info would be appreciated.

My truck didn't come with the cigarette lighter either, but I also wanted one for plugging in devices too. The connectors are already in the wiring harness. Besides the lighter assembly, you also need the metal shroud called the Lens, Cigarette, part number 85533-10010. It was kind of a tight fit getting everything assembled.

Buy the kit from the dealer. It will come wi th the metal bezel too, just incase you need it for a lighter. Otherwise, use it for only your cell phone. Its wired for it and plugs right in.

Got mine a auto parts store with the a green ring (actually glows green with an LED)..
a few 15amp fuses later it was wired in. Theres wiring in there for a cig lighter just find a wiring diagram (FSM) and you can find it easily.
If it didnt have the LED wouldnt be as hard to wire in but I wanted the light to come on when i turned the dash lights on so it took awhile to figure that out =)

I got one from AutoZone and installed it. Just ran the hot wire to the fuse box down by my feet and grounded it on a metal post behind the stereo. Of course I hid all the wires, etc.

You could always just direct wire one of those solar car battery chargers to an aftermarket "lighter" outlet. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=44768
Of course you'd have to do some splicing and soldering..., but I would imagine it's fairly easy.
