Ok, I have had a hard time accessing the FSM so I'm not sure what I need. This is what I know I need:

Master Kit (includes Pistons, rings, rod bearings, main bearings, thrust washer, oil pump, full gasket kit, full bronze deep dish freeze plug set): $298. Plus $24.

If you can think of anything I haven't, let me know. This is my list for cost to keep track of. Also, if anyone knows where to get the new connecting rods, let me know.

Also, on a side note. Got a recall notice from Toyota a month ago for a steering connecting relay rod replacement, called to schedule the appointment and they told me that the head gasket recall hadn't been done. So on an 18 year old truck, I got all new head gasket work done for free, not only free, but a 2010 Camry LE as a loaner while they worked on the truck.

Unless you threw a rod or spun the bearings you shouldn't need to replace the crank or the rods. The machine shop will regrind the crank journals and check the crank for bending but very seldom does it need to be replaced. Same with the rods. The shop will check them for problems and fix what needs to be done. New rod bolts are standard, though. This is a routine part of the machine shop work.

I would put on new motor mounts since they will be removed during the rebuild anyway, and replace the rear trans mount if it hasn't been done.
