Sammich bread huh? We've heard wet newspaper. For future reference (since we've had to grind it out 2x) how the hell do you pull that POS without using a Pilot bearing puller that NEVER works...?

Well, I'm guessing if you can lift the wheel off the ground by the oil pan the motor mounts are OK ... bummer - the search continues ...

Just curious; did you have eyes on the mount when it lifted? It may be busted but still connected. I've seen some mounts that have a hook & loop design where the sheet metal is sandwhiched around the rubber insert which is bonded to the sheet metal. Hard to explain but the ends have little hooks & will keep the mount in one piece even if the rubber fails. I imagine you did though; it's a stab in the dark.

Damn 3.0, I don't know how you can possibly see the motor mounts without disassembling the truck ...

It is shoe horned in there - I feel your pain. I have an oil leak on the passenger side & I don't feel like taking off the intake plenum just to change a freakin' valve (cam) cover gasket.

Maybe you can look at a new stock motor mount & see if it has any way possible to lock together when the rubber is toast? I have never seen a Toyota motor mount so I can't say. If not then you know the mounts are good; but if it has that configuration where it can lock together you may need to get a dental mirror or two & a helper & look again.

We do have the dental mirror..... It's worth a try. This is where a SA setup would make it a lot easier to see stuff I suppose. (From underneath that is)

I just went out to put on my Sonoran Steel truss & my tranny cooler & I discovered a couple things. First off the motor mounts are easily visible from under the front of my 4Runner w/ the 3.0 - secondly, my crappy autozone cv's that I just put on a few weeks ago have blown the boots & slung grease everywhere.

I guess I have to drop my own diff again today; might as well do it & armor up the ARB line that's touching my oil pan & block while I'm under there. I think you guys jinxed me.

I was gonna say....a mirror. I have an extending one with a flex head I use more than I thought I would when I got it. Pretty handy.
