How Can I Paint Certain Interior Pieces To Match?

'Morning, All-

I've got a plastic dash bezel and two interior door handles that I bought that are gray and I'd like to paint them to match the OE light blue Toyota interior. Any advice/experiences??

Wal-mart has a paint that is for plastic, can't remember the brand. I used there brown color for my center console and it matched perfect almost so perfect that as I was spraying the color didn't really change it just got shinier and started looking new again. I don't know if you would be lucky enough to find your blue but if you can i'd recommend it. Good luck!

Get the plastic paint. The best stuff can be purchased at autobody supply stores. I can't remember the brand I used on my interior parts, but the color match was perfect.

Whatever you do, DONT just use cheap krylon junk. It will flake off if its not flexible paint.

Ever watch Unique Whips? They spray all kinds of interior pieces. I think you'd have to use good paint and know what you're doing. I don't think I would spray a dash for instance. I couldn't see it holding up and look good. I did add a hatch light to the 4runner that was from an old blazer. It was black and I painted it brown to match the plastic in the door. I used plastic automobile paint but I didn't know the correct color. A perfect match to me wasn't important so I got as close as I could. It sprayed nicely but is a bit delicate. I have to touch it up with a q tip often if I'm rough on it.

Good responses, everyone! I'll go by Wally World or a parts store today to look. Thanks!

I think krylon was what I used, lol. Oh well we'll see how long it holds up for me. It looks really good anyway.

You know, it just occurred to me that when I paint these two gray pieces, if they come out looking good, I'm going to SERIOUSLY regret not having painted all the interior pieces when I had the thing gutted a few weeks ago... oh well.

Yeah, you probably will. I plan on repainting the panels in my cargo area in the near future, but I never put the trim pieces back on after I took my top off so i'm already half way there.
