Hilux Corner Lights for Pickup

Anyone know if the Hilux corner lights like the link below work with Japanese manufactured 93 SR5 4x4 pickups?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-97-Toyota...-/160911721856

Rather than modifying existing corner light w/ new relay capacitors, etc, as some have done, I'm thinking of just tapping the front turn signal light wiring and wiring to corner turn signal location in this two light fixture, replacing all turn signals with leds to ensure no wiring issues with extra light pair (and turn signal relay of course for led).

Thoughts?

Thank you.

As long as you don't have the flush style headlights from the 92-95 style 4runners they should work.

Yeah they'll work no problem... you just need the socket/harness for the turn signal bulb.

If you don't get the socket/harness for the turn signal bulb try www.roughtrax4x4.com they are excellent folks to deal with and probably have what you need. [at reasonable prices too] yes they ship world wide.

actual part might not be listed but they will answer questions and can source hard to find parts.

I got mine from RockAuto - with the light socket/harness - they fit perfect, those look fine as well.

Thanks aviator. Always appreciate.

What JohnnyCanuck -- RockAuto has the foreign hilux 2 light corner models with harnesses (turn signal and parking light in one)? I'm not seeing them. Have a part number?

Sorry certainly don't mean to hijack this thread. I have all LEDs on my hilux, including my turn signals and don't have any relay capacitors. Is this bad?

I ordered the lights for my '93 - japanese vin - so I'm not sure if they are the same as 'foreign hilux'.

My rear led taillights came with relays;

I tried running them without the relays just for giggles and they worked sporadically. Link for the corner/signal lights less?

My tail lights doas well, I forgot about those. I was actually refering to all the other lights actually. I have been running all LED lights in my Hilux for years now without any issues. However, I am currently on my third pair of tail lights.

What is the reason those will not fit 95 4runners? Do you think they could easily be modified to fit?

I believe because of the reverse light is mounted in them as opposed to 4 runners which have them separated from the taillights and mounted in your license plate frame. I don't see why they wouldn't mount up I've never tried it but I'm pretty sure i can make them fit and figure out how to wire up the reverse light to them.

My understanding on the turn signal relays is that stock will blink faster than normal if you put in leds without changing anything -- giving cops cause to give you a fix it ticket and possibly a fine.

Super bright leds explains the two options: http://www.superbrightleds.com/blog/...perflashing%29

I currently don't have a voltage issue on my truck to justify upgrading all to LEDs, but the reason I'd be upgrading is to ensure that the wiring intended for one bulb that I'll now be running two on doesn't become overtaxed...

@JohnnyCanuck - Does your front corner light have one bulb or two? I only see the one bulb option on Rock Auto.

But the one vs two bulb corner assembly is the difference between foreign and American. The US does not require but allows side mounted turn signal lights, but most countries require and cars are thus often equipped regardless of market of destination... Toyota appears to have only shipped trucks with one bulb corner assemblies to the American market for our generation of trucks.

Btw, I just installed new TYC front turn signal assemblies and they're a great upgrade from the hazy original factory lights.

Here's the new driver and old passenger lights:

And here's the new driver and new passenger turn signals:

I'd say at least 50% more light output after the swap.

Ordered both from Amazon:
TYC 12-1336-00 Toyota Passenger Side Replacement Signal Lamp : Amazon.com : Automotive TYC 12-1336-00 Toyota Passenger Side Replacement Signal Lamp : Amazon.com : Automotive
Roughly a $50 swap.
