hmmmm, well, mine has more than 2 wires going to it. Here are 2 pics.

What it looks like:

Where mine is mounted:

Does that help, or do you have one of these I guess should be the better question.

I'm going to trace those two that were cut on yours and get back with you ASAP. odd.

Andy.

*Update*

Those two cut wires (green and white) come from the master cylinder (brake fluid level sensor). What probably happened, at least my guess, is that the PO couldn't figure out why the brake idiot light wouldn't go off and cutting the wires solved the problem. The light on the dash is SUPPOSED to go on when fluid levels get too low I think.

Granted that is just my guess, as I've seen lazy folks do that with Hondas. The other two may be twisted together somewhere in your footwell to keep the light off permanently. Hope that helps.

I've got stories, I could go on and on. When buying a used vehicle, you can NEVER predict what you're going to find as you get deeper into a used vehicle. I once found a replacement wire on an old '78 Jeep Cherokee routed through a rust hole in the floorboards instead of the firewall. (I like DSPO=Dips**t Previous Owner or DSPM= same first part, but Mechanic).

AndYota It would appear that I do have that unit and it does seem to be in the same place as yours.... I assume it is working correctly....

So what should be my next step?

Besides putting a piece of black tape over the antanae hole and calling it a night and starting again tomorrow? (it is 8 degrees here afterall and NO garage to work in)

Thanks guys!

I would say go in through the fender well and chack to see if it's plugged into its power leads which are slightly toward the front of the truck from the antenna hole in the fender. If necessarym, you may have to take the motor assembly out as far as it will go (it will still be attached to the head unit via the antenna cord so it won't come too far) and make sure everything is there. I don't know how technically apt you are, but I didn't knowhow much junk was inside the motor case. I successfully disnamtled and reassembled the case after repairing the old mast and straightening everything, but it was a PITA. It may be cheaper (if you need to) to buy a "new" eBay assembly and install it. just my 2 cents.

Andyota:

thanks man...I appreciate the input.... we got another dump of snow and cold here in Wisconsin... so as soon as it warms back up a bit, I'll get in there and have a look and see what is going on with the motor...

Thanks guys!
