Heater delete help/imformation???
So I'm debating on ditching my heater all together.
As far as the metal tubes, one bolting to the lower intake manifold and the other to the backside of the timing cover. Should I keep those on the motor and just connect the two open ends with a rubber hose, basically making the coolant bypass the soft heater lines going into the cab. Or should I just make so plates that's I can just bolt down over the openings on the intake manifold and timing cover. How that makes sense.

Maybe the cold weather is making me biased, but what in the world do you have to gain by bypassing your heater? Do you understand you won't have a defroster any more?

Don't just connect them together. A friend of mine did that and he couldn't figure out why his coolant temp would creep up and eventually overheat.
With the heater core in the loop it at least dissipated some heat. With just a loop it is a significant amount of coolant just bypassing the radiator.

After I rebuilt.my engine I had my heater hoses bypassing the core for a little while. Its not a big deal. The coolant will still circulate.
If it is not broken.. dont touch it!
