Yeah the hood scoop is off of a 3rd gen 4runner sport. Bought it on ebay, a person was selling an oem replacement hood that was damaged in the rear corner (corner was bent), so I bought it and had them cut the scoop out with about 3 inches around either side.
Haha, the E-locker is staying! I would probably say it is the best mod I have done to my truck, until I get the SAS on it in a few short months here that is. I just put my TRD stickers on too.
Sorry to thread jack breknraj

the "nice job" comment was to both of you, the e-locker comment was to the OP. haha, but i'll take yours!
i've always wanted a starlet, and now you've got a piece of one grafted on to your 4runner!

Nice... That scoop has a nice shape to it. That's on my list of things to do just for looks and temps under the hood. The header on my 22re gets hot enough to glow orange at night.

Are you sure your A/F ratio is correct? If you literally mean it glows, it sounds like it is running lean...

^ that's what i was thinking! maybe the timing is a bit out of whack?
i mean, i flog on my supra all day long in summer heat, (and nights) and even the turbo/manifold on that doesn't glow, and i'm sure it's running hotter than a 22re!?
meh, who knows, my 22re is bone stock for now. hooray daily driver!

I dont think the timing would have to do with that enough to make it run that lean. When the truck runs lean, the exhaust temps go way up, and you get glowing exhaust parts. The oxygen sensor is what determines the A/F ratio, so my guess would be a lazy oxygen sensor... Definatly check into that buddy, before you get

Nice try, there, Shaeff! I'm afraid that I'll have to tell you to find your own, though! I'll have to re-gear mine, before I install it, but that's no big deal. I'm looking forward to having it!
BTW, no worries on the thread-jacking, folks!

I didn't notice any significant change, but I only have the factory guage in the dash, and most of us are aware of how innaccurate they can be.
The people that have seen it seem to like the look - I'm hoping to make some more progress on it this week.
