i d like to drop the detroit rear locker i have and install an e-locker instead. can the elocker fit in a 95 4runner v-6 ?

i wish ox made a cable auctuated locker for toys , but not happening.

what size where the rear ends with the e lockers ?

i beleive mine is a 6.5 v6 type.

if it doesnt fit , can the complete rear axle from something with an elocker fit the 4 runner with out toooooooo much cutting and welding. maybe a simple bolt in install if i had the complete rear end and axle .

i know this may end up being more expensive then just adding the arb's front and rear. which may be the way i end up going .

your rear is an 8 inch im pretty sure

and i dont know this from firsthand experience but i think the elocker diff was an 8 inch too, different than regular tacoma diffs, but more like ours

E-locker can be fitted into a 2nd gen diff, here's a write up http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/electric_locker/

The entire axle from a 3rd gen is wider so it won't fit a 2nd gen

You have to modify either 2 or 4 studs (I forget) and cut a notch out of the housing and weld a little extra on and grind it smooth for the gasket surface. Other then that and the wiring it bolts right in.

Downey and I think one other place make a conversion for you to change the e-locker to a cable actuated "ox-locker". Check it out it is a very easy modification so you don't have to worry about losing electrical power to the locker
