Buy a plasma cutter. Takes all of about 10 seconds to remove the spare tire

I never cease to find uses for cutting things with mine.

Hahahaha....yeah,now you gotta find some other space absorning spot to store your spare. Unless you got her hung on the gate. I,unfortunatly don't have the luxury of hanging mine on the gate. I was deteremined to get mine down and fixed so iIcan continue...keeping my spare outta valuable cargo space. Which I did, with some patience,"abe's" help and some spary snot.

the problem with my spare tire winch, is it spins freely, but the chain doesn't move at all. Something's terribly wrong with it. I just keep the spare tire in my bed for now..

In that situation,I don't blame ya. Can ya get the three mounting bolts from the winch out,so you can remove/inspect the winch?

It's not a problem of water falling from the sky but frozen water falling and various salts applied to the road to melt the frozen water which get sprayed onto the bottom of the vehicle and cause corrosion.
Being from Victorville, you should know that.

Well, I needed to get it down because I needed a spare and I started to unbolt all three bolts and then ended up snapping everysingle one. And right before the last bolt, I moved everything out of the way, including my legs adn feet, and let it drop to the ground.

Yes. You use the long extension rod with the circular end slides into the winch shaft slot. The square end fits into a handle in the jack kit.

Use lots and lots of penetrating oil on the mechanism. PB Blaster is a very good, and popular, oil. WD-40, and so forth are others. Whatever you prefer. WD-40 with white Lithium grease is actually very good. It penetrates well, and the white Lithium lubes great.
Whatever you prefer to use, use lots of it, let it sit for a day, use lots more, let it sit for a day, try to break it loose, use more, let it sit, try to break it loose, etc. Keep at it. It'll come loose eventually.
