so i know there are lots of cams for the 22re, my question is; is the cam in the 22re the same as the cam in the 22ret. im getting the head ported and polished and wile in there id like to put in a new cam but im not sure what one to get.

Pretty sure it's the same cam. I put an EB268 in my turbo(I miss it already), and it seemed to do pretty good

I think Jeff Mosk recommends DOA's 270 cam for it

Mine's got a enginbldr 261 crawler, I like it, runs OK with computer. Post up on 22RTE-Trucks@yahoogroups.com and pick their brains too.

As much as this answer is going to be disliked - I'd talk to Tim at DOA. He did my turbo cam, as well as the camshaft for Jeff Mosk's truck (after at least 2 other camshafts) - he puts a lot of R&D into the cams that he does.
