86 22re Granade *water pump)

the truck i bought yesterday ran fine. didn't notice any soon to be problems before i handed over the cash. drove it back from spartanburg sc to rutherfordton nc ( 45min-1hr drive)

Well today i get it tagged and replace the passenger corner marker coming home its rattling bad, looses power and * I said o * not another blown block or hg*

get out and look after all the steam is gone lotta play in the fan and water pump shaft. the pully chewed up one of the bolts, anybody think after i get it off i should pull off the timing cover for safe measures?

maybe replace the oil pump while im at it

oil pumps generally don't go on these things I would worry about that unless you have oil pressure problems already. Take the water pump off and inspect the timing cover face that's behind the pump. if that's damaged in any way then I would replace it.

i finally got that * off. (ground down bolts suck) it's dark outside but from what i can feel and see ,on the face of the tc it's all good. but where the lip is *the big dip part* it's still smooth so i just threw on 2 gaskets and bolted my other pump on. hoping it doesn't leak

everything *should* be the same between the two with the exception of a/c, I don't know the differences as my 87 doesn't have a/c. But I know the power steering stuff is completely separate from the alt/fan belt stuff. And I believe the a/c is a seperate belt as well?

You said the belt and water pump you got from the store didn't fit correctly?
