Ball joint spacers and leaf spring question
I have a 87 runner and i want it lifted a little, maybe 2-3 inches. i have been looking at these balljoint spacers and seen them from 1.5" to 2.5". But im curious how much spacing is too much spacing? Also will i have any problems out of the rest of the front suspension, i.e. ball joints, steering, or flex? All in all im curious if this is a good idea?
Second i have a set of 63" chevy 1/2ton leafs tht i was thinking about swapping out in the rear. I know i would need to remove the overload spring from the pack and also move my front hanger forward but how do i know where to put the shackle mount or do i have to move it at all? or does this mod even sound worth doing?

I've never seen a 2.5in BJ spacer, and I think that 1.5in really is/should be the limit with BJ spacers.
Thesre are LOTS of threads about this exact thing, it's a pretty common suspension set-up on older Toyotas.
Here's my 4Runner on BJ spacers NO T-bar crank, OME Dakar HD springs in the rear and OME shocks/stabilizer...
...tons of room for 33's, rides great, couldn't be happier. now I just need new Gears and Tires.

SDORI did lots of testing when they did made theirs, and they said 1.5 is the safest limit.
OP, Id say the 1.5" bj spacers and 63"s would be a pretty good combo, the front will give a little more flex, and the rears will flex like no tomorrow.
You might have to give it a lil bit of torsion bar crank to get the front even with the rear..

actually io think i solved all my problems today. cruzied down to pull-a-part today just to browse and cam home with a 14 bolt full floater. So 63's it is. As for the front, im on the search for a front axle. And dont worry wab. you will get lots of my business. Infact ill be in t-town tomorrow. Ill come by and see ya.
