Aftermarket Tachometer Won't work

So I got this:
Amazon.com : Docooler Tachometer Tach Gauge with Holder Cup for Auto Car 2" 52mm 0~8000RPM Blue LED Light : Car Electronics Amazon.com : Docooler Tachometer Tach Gauge with Holder Cup for Auto Car 2" 52mm 0~8000RPM Blue LED Light : Car Electronics

And I have the green tach wire going into the "temporary" tach port in the engine compartment, as you can see in the picture, but it's not registering anything on the tach.

I've tested the backlight on the tach by touching it's wires straight to the battery, and it works.

I tried testing the tach in the same way, but I get nothing.

So before I go returning the tach and getting another, can anyone see anything that may have been done to my wiring that would cause that tach port to not give me what I need?

Are the tach's "power" wires (longer red and black) connected?

Red face

I had a rough long week Do I really see a hose clamp on the coil wire

If I am seeing things I would rather see Hot Women!!

Just where are you getting the 12 Volt Supply to power the tach

Where did you attach the ground wire you can piggy back the ground wire for the light with the ground for the tach it`s self??

You have the tach signal the system voltage the ground for the Tach The light positive and a ground for the light.

Are they all hooked up correct??

Then at the cost you might need to go through 10 to get one that works.

I'm testing the red and black wires directly to the battery terminals. So it sounds like the tach is bad...

Is there a way to verify that the taxh port is actually putting out a signal?
