95 4runner Fuel Filter Fun
Hello all, just thought I'd share some fun I had recently with my new (to me) ride....95 4runner, 157,000, 3.slow, 4X4. She sat up for about 8 months before I bought her so I'm in the process of changing all fluids and things I can think of.
Well, I've changed fuel filters on all of my vehicles in the past, so I thought this would be easy. Little did I know what a beaach the fuel filter would be to get to. Like most work I've done on it so far (most recent was a starter change-out) I have discovered my arms aren't skinny enough and my hands are too big!
If you are planning on doing this yourself, removing the crossmember (??) is highly recommended. Also I found an older post instructing to unscrew the gas cap before starting, that was invaluable as virtually no gas went in my face. After all was done, I arose triumphant and proceeded to rip off the fuel filler door with my shoulder .....nothing a little super glue wouldn't fix! I have no idea how old that filter was (see pic), but she seems to run smoother now.
Cheers.
