94 4Runner with back door open and glass stuck UP
I made a huge mistake today by rolling up the rear window of my 4runner from the drivers seat. I saw the window was down in my rear view and stupidly assumed the gate was up and tried to roll the window up. Now my glass is all the way up (out of track?) and I can't close the rear gate. Gate is locked and will not unlock. Trying to roll down the window with the key or the switch only gives me beeps. I tried the rear wiper reset method I read about but the wipers do not move. Can't drive it and my car is open.
Can someone please help my dumb ass?

First of all, it shouldn't have allowed you to roll up the window with the tailgate open. Someone has defeated an interlock somewhere. Obviously the interlock that prevents you from rolling the window down with the tailgate open is still working.
Best quick fix is to take the cover off the inside of the tailgate, unplug the motor, and carefully apply 12V to the motor connector in the correct direction to roll the window back down again. The motor has a two wire plug. Applying 12V one way across the terminals raises the window, applying 12V the other way lowers it. Best to have some help to make sure it gets in the track correctly. Do this procedure carefully to make sure nothing is jammed that will cause breakage.
After you get it driveable again, you can find a wiring diagram and figure out where the interlock that's supposed to prevent this sort of thing is bypassed.

I agree with RJR. It shouldn't have happened in the first place. Have you tried pushing in on the back door while using the key switch in the back? You might be able to fool it into thinking the door is closed, which is probably what happened when you rolled it up.
Other than that, do as RJR says and use a full 12 volts from a battery directly on the motor terminals.
Good luck!
