you're shorting the E1 and TE1 terminals in the diagnostic connector behind the battery, correct? and when you do that, the idle speed changes, correct?

i figured everthing with the timing today now i got another problem im getting a c.e.l code 25 and thats because the o2 sensor is not plugged in but i cant find a connector any were that would fit the o2 sensor the truck ran great before i swapped motors with an 86 but i put the 88 wiring harness and efi from the 88 motor, and that motor never had a o2 sensor and it ran great lots of power. i want to know how that motor could have ran with out a o2 sensor and this motor is running like because it has one, and yes the 88 motor should have one but it doesnt. so any help on the would be great thanks.

the o2 on an 88 should be under the cab, in front of the catalytic converter.
did you look there?
