87 pickup gas lines

I have an 87 pickup and the gas tank leaks so I got a used tank. The problem is they both have three hoses coming out but my old one has all three coming out of one little circle area and the new one has two coming out of the circle area and one off to the side. I'm not sure how to hook my lines back up. Anybody familiar with this?

Do you have any idea what the tank came out of??

One line is the fuel pressure side the other is the fuel return the other is the vent.

You might need to pull the fuel pump bracket to figure it out .

A picture would help

The new tank supposedly came from a 87 pickup also. I do have pics but can't figure out how to post them.

According to the book the rear one is the supply the middle the return and the forward one is the vent.

Oh BTW that is a 22r tank not a 22r-e tank and you're fuel pump assembly doesn't fit in the hole IIRC. Hopefully I'm mistaken and you just need to swap out the parts, in which case your fuel lines will go back to the same ones they came off of.

Co 94 PU..You are right. A carbed tank fuel assembly pick up hole is about the size of an orange and the fuel injected tanks hole is about the size of a grapefruit. He wont be able to get the fuel pump into the tank.

Bearhunter75.. Fuel tanks are not interchangeable from the 4Runner and the pickup even if they are from the same year just incase the tank in question is possibly a 4Runner. The 4Runner tank fuel fill pipe is to the rear and the vent pipe is to the front.

On a pickup the fuel fill pipe is to the front and the vent pipe is to the rear. I didnt see where you had a 22r or 22re motor.

This is a 22r carbed pickup tank. The fuel pickup assembly and the fuel float level assembly are similar or the same size on top of the tank. I dont remember which one is which as far as float or fuel pick up assembly at this time.

A fuel injected tank has alot larger hole for the fuel pump assembly to fit thru and has a silver ring that would stand out as well.

This came off a two drive truck and I do believe there are tank size differences if it doesnt look exactly like yours.

The 2 inch size fill pipe is to the front or on the right of the half inch vent line.

Silver ring and larger hole on a fuel injected tank. Finger is showing line that likes to clog on another post. Just wanting to show the ring I was talking about.
