Question #2... Wouldn't this truck have the wider rear end than mine, seeing as its an IFS? Just not sure the difference between a 4WD rear straight axle and a 2WD rear axle. I read that the third member in the turbo models was tougher. Not that I could use that, I have the stock 4.37's in my diffs.
Yes, it should. Turbo's have the 8" to so you're good, but the gear will be way off so you can't use it, or it won't be feasible... To get you going just put the diff you have in that housing. Yes it's wider...
I'd put a tape on it to make triple sure though... And you can measure your spring perches while yer at it...

Awesome. Definitely the time to do the swap then, I already have the axle out for a 63" chevy spring swap and I have an aussie locker to put in so my third member will be out soon anyways.

If you ever come to California, I will buy your rims and rear end, or at least the thrid. I have been looking for a differential for my 4x2 with 3.42s for a while. Those a really rare door panels. I saw some like that on eBay a while back for $300.
On second thought, will the third fit in a USPS flat rate box?
