1986 Toyota Hilux coolant/anti-freeze

Does anybody know what coolant/anti-freeze my truck is supposed to take it is engine code 2L LN65. I can’t find anything and I don’t have the owners manual to check. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Regular green ethylene glycol type is appropriate for your truck.
Toyota red coolant would serve well also, but I don't think it existed yet when your truck was built.

I think the Toyota Red coolant has all been swapped over to the Super long life pink coolant.
I've gotten Aisin pink coolant from Summitracing.com at a good price.

Back when I did my 3.4 swap I was told I HAD to use the Toyota red coolant or the world would end. At the time, the specs said it would not protect brass or copper and my truck still has a copper/brass radiator, heater core and T-stat so I have been using the universal green coolant for about 12 years.

Does the new super long life pink stuff protect the older trucks? It gets confusing with the HOAT and OET and whatever else they have now. It seems some will attack some gasket material so I have just been sticking with the old school stuff for my old school truck.

Toyota always hyped their products over aftermarket vendors, so it wasn’t always easy to discern science from marketing.
what did get my attention was when engineers at the nearby Delco and Raytheon complexes were buying the Toyota coolant to put in they’re domestic vehicles, citing the formula as superior.
It certainly was easier to get a proper looking coolant flush on a Toyota that already had red coolant in the system by using new red during the exchange. If you’ve ever added green coolant to a system that has any residual red you’ll know what I’m talking about. Not a good look.
I can say that in all my years with Toyotas, I’ve never had a rust issue using red/pink. But I always flush at the designated intervals.

You need to mix it 50/50 with distilled water.

I've also read that if you do a full coolant swap you can move the pink stuff (no mix), but I've not validated this.

I think, although very rarely, that the "pink" stuff is just the "red" stuff, only pre-mixed with distilled water. Once you put the "red" stuff into your system, and mix it 50/50 with distilled water, it looks exactly like what comes out of the container of "pink" stuff. You can buy 1 container of the red, and mix it with water, or two bottles of pink, and just pour them in as-is.

I may be totally wrong about all this, though.

Don't forget to give your system a good "burp" before you drive it. Those air bubbles are sneaky, and like to hide in the system if you don't get them out.

A little Googling tells that the anti-corrosion packages in the Red and the Pink are Different.
With the Red protecting copper and brass somewhat better than the Pink does.
Pink being preferred for alumunum radiators.

Well, some online dealers shows the red being available, while others have it "no longer for sale". So I dunno.

I bought a couple gallons on Ebay from a dealer in Florida.
Maybe 6 months ago.
They sent me the diluted pink, but took it back and sent the correct full strength red the second time.
